Over het bedrijf

Global Desktop Engineer wanted for an international bank. You will be working in IT department within our client’s international organisation. This department controls business IT processes, and services the total IT Infrastructure of the company. Although IT Infrastructure has a global focus, it uses regional organisations to service the business locally.


Over de functie

The primary responsibility will be maintaining the desktop Microsoft platform. Responsibilities include:

  • Working in a small team;
  • Creating builds for XP / Vista / Windows 7;
  • Providing technical support to client service teams;
  • Performing Quality Assurance tests for delivery;
  • Advising and monitoring User Acceptance Tests;
  • Maintaining full documentation of systems, fault resolutions, and incident investigations;
  • Testing of new software releases, patches and upgrades;
  • Liaising with other technical support teams (UNIX, Windows, DBA, development, etc.);
  • Liaising with development groups to ensure standards are adhered to;
  • Establishing effective lines of communications;
  • Maintaining the necessary housekeeping of the delivery system and managing compatibility issues.

Functie eisen

Essential Skills:

  • At least 3 years experience in packaging and in-depth knowledge of Desktop and Server Microsoft Systems and programming;
  • BA degree in Information Technology;
  • WinPE technologies and operating system delivery architectures;
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Networking;
  • Database skills: SQL;
  • Programming: VBScript, C, Powershell, .Net;
  • Familiar with the applications used within an Investment Bank;
  • In-depth knowledge of Office and IE;
  • In-depth knowledge of AD and supporting System Center;
  • In-depth knowledge of PKI and Encryption / Security components;
  • Effective communication in English language (verbal and written).

Desirable Skills:

  • Web services and Sharepoint;
  • Linux and Unix;
  • SCCM;
  • IT Security;
  • Capacity & Performance Monitoring & Management;
  • Methodical fault finding.
